Experience:
• 12 months of role experience is required with some in the last 12 months.
• 22 months of Medical Surgical Unit experience is required with some in the last 24 months.
• Travel experience is preferred from any number of months.
• Experience with Epic is required from any number of months.
Requirements:
• Candidates must have a Ohio license or compact license (required for submission).
• This role will require floating to multiple units
• Local & travel allowed. Candidates living • Flu vaccination required after submission. Religious and medical declinations accepted.

Additional Details:
Education must be from an ACEN or CCNE accredited program.
References must cover at least 1 full year of relevant experience in specialty within the past 3 years.
Oncology experience preferred but not required.
Shift: D/N Rotating or Nights
If you accept a 12D/N rotating contract, you may be scheduled for days, nights, or a combination of both, depending on the department’s needs. Shift assignments are reviewed every 4-week scheduling period, but changes are not guaranteed and are based on staffing priorities at that time.
Weekends - variable based on unit needs

Floating required to other MedSurg Oncology units.
*First week of orientation is Mon - Fri dayshift. Second week is 36hrs of on-unit orientation with a preceptor.
Patient Age group: Adult, Geriatrics
Patient Diagnoses: The most common diagnoses include all subtypes of the following – Breast Cancer, Lung Cancer,Prostate Cancer, Pancreatic Cancer, Colon Cancer, Esophageal Cancer, Encounter for antineoplastic chemotherapy
Special Procedures/Unit Details:
-17 James cares for all solid tumor cancers throughout the spectrum of their cancer journey; from new diagnosis, through treatment, and also assisting with transition to end of life care.
-Heavy focus on infection prevention protocols and patient falls
-Cares for patients that have true med surg issues
Skills Required: Telemetry Interpretation, Telemetry monitoring
There is a strict compliance deadline of Tuesday prior to start – no exceptions.
Please note: All candidates must be made aware of the urgency of the Ohio Fingerprinting process. Candidates must complete fingerprints as soon as they sign contract. Travelers who are unresponsive or uncooperative with credentialing are at risk of push/cancel.
RTO required with submission, must be built into contract.
2 professional references are required. At least 1 reference must be from a manager/director or someone in a formal leadership capacity (e.g., a supervisor). Charge RN acceptable for 2nd reference. No coworker references accepted.
Former employees are eligible for a travel assignment once they have been away from the facility for 6 months or more.
Current employees are ineligible to be hired as a traveler at any Ohio State University hospital location.
