Job title: Unit Clerk Job location: Bronxville, NY 10708 Shift : Monday-Friday 10a-6p, rotating weekends Pay :$20 -$23/hr without benefits Contract : 11 wk assignment, possible extension
Education : HS diploma/GED
Job Summary: Basic computer knowledge (required). Ability to read, write, and follow simple written and oral directives (required). Knowledge of policies and procedures of assigned department (required). Greet patients, visitors and employees in a courteous manner Identify oneself with patients and explain presence Respond to inquiries politely and promptly and refer matters outside scope as necessary Provide assistance to physicians, nurses and technologists Check in deliveries from Central Sterile Supply, Pharmacy, General Stores, Laundry and Receiving Monitor linen supply and call laundry service for pick-up and delivery Distribute requisitions to appropriate locations Pick up and/or deliver specimens, reports, laboratory items Transport supplies and equipment by pushing, pulling carts or carrying items Maintain supplies and equipment/furniture by patient bedside in an orderly manner Transport dirty equipment to cleaning area and clean equipment following infection control procedures Return equipment to appropriate location Receive deliveries to replenish stock rooms and place items in shelves/cabinets in an orderly and safe fashion Maintain stock room, drawers and equipment in neat and orderly condition Mark and set aside broken equipment and advise supervisor when supplies are low or equipment needs repair Maintain written log of equipment/supplies status Remove instruments and patient equipment from rooms and clean/prepare prior to pick-up Clean carts, shelves, and other equipment using cleaning solutions
