This is a benefited, full time position generally working Monday-Friday from 8am-5pm. Shift times may vary as needed. The occasional Saturday may be required, as well as evening hours. Located at the Anderson Medical Pavilion in La Jolla. This is a dual role working both front and back office duties (i.e. clinical and clerical tasks).

What you'll do:
This is a dual role with both clinical and administrative aspects
Rooming patients, checking vitals, assisting with procedures
Clinic prep assisting with Provider specific protocols
Maintains a clean, organized, and safe environment
Organizes and performs patient care services that support the physicians practice
Relaying instructions from the physician to the patient or authorized person
Collecting patient data in person and by phone
Documenting patient concerns, messages and care provided in the electronic medical record for the physician's review
Administering medications specifically directed by the physician
Scheduling of appointments and procedures
Complete and accurate message taking
Routing messages to the appropriate area for direction
Order and referral entry, acquisition of pre-certifications
Setting up of cases in EPIC plus basic registration and updating of demographics

Required Qualifications:
Completion of a formal Medical Assistant Program OR hold a Medical Assistant Certification OR have a minimum of two years of experience as a military corpsman
BLS certification for the Healthcare Provider by the American Heart Association (AHA)
Preferred Qualifications:
1 year of experience working as Medical Assistant
