Job Summary We are currently seeking a qualified Mechanical Engineer who is self-motivated and ready to contribute to the future success of Stratus. We want the candidate for Mechanical Engineer to become an integral part of our team! Stratus is a consulting engineering and design company specializing in the disciplines of Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing, Fire Protection, and Information Technology Systems for K-12 educational facilities, higher education facilities of all types, health care facilities, commercial buildings, animal care facilities, retirement facilities, and local governments.

Primary Essential Functions Produce holistic designs of mechanical HVAC systems, including schematic conceptualization, load calculations, equipment selections, layouts, piping, and writing specifications Design and create MEP schematics for large K-12 construction and renovation projects using BIM software, and perform resource consumption and energy analysis on MEP systems Designs will result in producing 100% complete construction documents Lead design teams on projects Ability to communicate well with clients, junior, and senior staff Analyze and interpret design verification data Will be able to meet project budgets, schedules, and performance criteria in a fast-paced environment Assist with coordinating design verification activities, including assigning roles and responsibilities in the verification process As needed, work with established outside vendor(s) regarding product oversight, timelines, and quality control Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in engineering from an ABET-accredited university 4-5 years of experience in engineering design and project management with a consulting engineering or A/E firm, specialization in mechanical engineering PE is not required, but is highly preferred EIT completed Strong client skills Strong organizational skills are required Experience in completing MEP construction design documents in Autodesk Revit Equal Opportunity Statement Stratus is an Equal Opportunity Employer that does not discriminate on the basis of actual or perceived race, color, creed, religion, national origin, ancestry, citizenship status, age, sex or gender (including pregnancy, childbirth, pregnancy-related conditions, and lactation), gender identity or expression (including transgender status), sexual orientation, marital status, military service and veteran status, physical or mental disability, genetic information, or any other characteristic protected by applicable federal, state, or local laws and ordinances.
