Position Title: Marketing and Business Development Manager
Department: Marketing
Reports to: VP of Member Experience
FLSA Classification: Exempt
Compensation: $75,000.00 - $120,000.00 annually
Job Summary:
The Marketing and Business Development Manager leads the Credit Union’s efforts to grow and engage its membership. This role is responsible for developing and executing high-impact marketing strategies, strengthening community partnerships, and driving sustainable business growth.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
- Foster strong relationships with members and the community to support membership growth and promote our "Sales Through Service" culture.
- Lead, coach, and mentor a high-performing team to deliver quality marketing programs and projects.
- Cultivate a positive and inclusive work environment that reflects the Credit Union’s core values and mission.
- Provide timely, constructive performance feedback and support employee development in accordance with Credit Union policies and procedures.
Duties/Responsibilities:
Marketing Strategy & Execution:
- Develop and implement comprehensive marketing plans aligned with the credit union's strategic objectives.
- Oversee branding, digital marketing, social media, content creation, advertising, and promotions.
- Conduct market research initiatives to identify trends, opportunities, and competitive benchmarks.
- Analyze and monitor campaign performance, using data and analytics to improve ROI and member engagement.
- Manage the marketing budget and ensure efficient resource allocation.
- Champion the Credit Union’s Sales through Service culture within the Credit Union.
Business Development & Community Engagement:
- Identify, develop, and maintain strategic partnerships with local businesses, community groups, and educational institutions.
- Represent Central State at community events, trade shows, and networking activities to promote brand awareness and member acquisition.
- Develop and execute business development strategies that expand membership and deepen existing relationships.
- Collaborate with internal teams to create onboarding strategies that ensure long-term member loyalty.
Team Leadership & Collaboration:
- Lead, mentor, and develop the marketing and business development team to ensure high performance and professional growth
- Partner with departments including lending, operations, IT, and other departments to support organizational objectives.
- Track and report key performance metrics and progress to executive leadership on a regular basis.
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Documented history of successful campaign execution, business growth, and strategic partnerships.
- Strong knowledge of digital marketing tools, CRM systems, and social media tools.
- Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Ability to think strategically and execute tactically in a fast-paced environment.
- Effectively present information to senior management, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in marketing, Business Administration, Communications, or a related field preferred.
- Minimum 5 years of proven experience in marketing and/or business development leadership, ideally in a credit union, bank, or other financial services environment.
- Knowledge of regulatory compliance and advertising requirements for financial institutions.
- Spanish language proficiency is a plus.
- Digital Banking experience preferred.
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- May require standing and walking 25% of the time, lifting up to a maximum of 50 pounds, and other physical actions that include stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, reaching, pulling and pushing.
- Travel between branches or community events.
- May be required to work in an environment with high noise levels and unpredictable temperature and ventilation.
