Position Opportunity Alamance Foods is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer with a strong passion for continuous improvement and process optimization. This role is ideal for individuals who thrive in fast-paced manufacturing environments and enjoy identifying, leading, and implementing change. You'll work cross-functionally with operations, maintenance, and quality teams to streamline processes, increase efficiency, and ensure the reliability of our high-volume production lines. Essential Duties/Responsibilities Identify and lead continuous improvement initiatives across manufacturing processes (Lean, Six Sigma, root cause analysis, etc.) Collaborate with production teams to optimize line performance, reduce downtime, and improve throughput Design, develop, and implement process improvements and cost-saving initiatives Assist in troubleshooting equipment and process issues alongside maintenance and production personnel Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and drive improvements through data analysis Support capital projects, equipment upgrades, and facility expansions Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and regulatory standards Document engineering processes and maintain technical records Support new product and process trials from concept to production scale-up
Qualifications Education/Training/Certifications: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Chemical Engineering or similar Engineering degrees. (Required)
Related Experience : Previous co-op/internship or full-time experience in a manufacturing or industrial setting preferred Strong preference for candidates with demonstrated experience in continuous improvement or lean manufacturing
Knowledge/Skills Experience: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Familiarity with lean tools (5S, value stream mapping, kaizen, etc.) and root cause methodologies Excellent communication and collaboration skills across departments Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite; experience with AutoCAD or SolidWorks is a plus Familiarity with PLCs, automation systems, or industrial processes a plus
