Job Duties and Responsibilities:  A Line Cook is responsible for the following job duties and responsibilities that include but are not limited to:  Prepare and cook to order foods for our Deli, Catering & Made to Order Food Menus*Follow proper recipes, knife skills and cooking techniques to provide consistent ingredients and finished products*Prepare foods by operating a variety of kitchen equipment to measure and mix ingredients, washing, peeling, cutting and shredding fruits and vegetables, and trimming and cutting meat, poultry or fish*Maintain the highest standards in flavor, consistency and visual appealSupports the kitchen ensuring efficiency, consistency and excellence*Balance prep work while ensuring items are prepared in a timely manner while maintaining high standards*Maintain sanitation and quality assurance according to company policy*Assist with store events*Ensure strict compliance with all rules and policies, including but not limited to applicable health and safety policies and laws (i.e.- those that relate to cleanliness and sanitation) *Collaborate with the Marketing Dept. to craft creative and profitable plans to increase sales, promote items and gain industry exposure*Work and remain qualified in the position knowing the Working Conditions; Job Requirements and Physical Demands / Requirements that relate directly to the essential job duties and functions, with or without a reasonable accommodation (see below for details)Perform all other appropriate duties and tasks as assigned (including those outside of your department and outside of your day-to-day duties to meet business needs) * The above job duties marked with a * are considered essential job duties. Required knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Strong knowledge of safe food handling and safe work habitsWorks well in a fast-paced, high pressure, and high-volume environmentAble to adapt, be flexible and manage varying situations and issuesPossess the ability to work alone or as part of a team dynamicPossess knowledge of and abide by relevant laws and company policiesPossess proficient communication skills in English (to accurately convey information or ideas) in a manner that is understoodAble to proficiently read in English Required Qualifications and Experience: 1+ Years cooking experience in a high volume restaurant/catering environmentPassion for Food & Service Knife Skills Required education or certifications: High School Diploma or GEDCulinary degree from an accredited university preferredFood Safety Certification from an accredited institution preferred Working Conditions; Job Requirements and Physical Demands / Requirements that relate directly to the essential job duties and functions.Comply with all Safe Food handling requirements Adhere to all Federal, State and Local regulations pertaining to the food preparationMust be able to remain in a stationary position for 90 % of the workdayMust be able to move or traverse for 90 % of the workdayMust be able to ascend and descend stairs or ladders Must be able to position oneself to stoop, bend or crouch to carry out the job dutiesFrequently move, transport, position, install, or remove objects or items that are up to 40 pounds for 10 feetWork in an environment that features hot and cold temperature variationsWork indoors and outdoorsWork in an environment in which you are exposed to food allergensSee also job duties and responsibilities above, including essential job functionsMore about 1663 Market at Sickles Farm...1663 Market at Sickles Farm is built on a long legacy of quality at the tip of the Two River Peninsula in Little Silver, NJ, specializing in fresh, locally sourced produce, artisanal groceries, and delightfully prepared foods.
