Job Description Summary:

Under the direction of a licensed pharmacist, responsible for assisting the pharmacy technician supervisor with leading the pharmacy technician operations in accordance with Option Care Health policies & procedures, and the state's professional standards & regulations. The lead technician is experienced in all aspects of medication compounding, clinical pharmacy, and plays a significant role in the coordination of patient services.

Job Description:

Job Responsibilities (listed in order of importance and/or time spent):

  • Prescription & Equipment Preparation and Processing
  • Ensures sterile preparations meet the clinical needs of patients, satisfying quality, safety, and environmental control requirements in all phases of preparation, storage, transportation, and administration in compliance with regulations.
  • Coordinates and prioritizes prescription processing.
  • Ability to function at an advanced practice level, if allowed per state regulations.
  • Operational Oversight
  • Creates technician schedules
  • Analyzes operational data and makes recommendations to improve efficiency and accuracy.
  • Assists the supervisor with development of policies and processes.
  • Helps ensure training needs are met.
  • Inventory Maintenance
  • Leads all activities related to ensuring accurate inventory levels.
  • Resolves vendor/supplier issues.
  • Patient Support & Experience
  • Develops processes & scripts for patient inquiries.

Supervisory Responsibilities

Basic Education and/or Experience Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Minimum of 3 years of pharmacy technician experience.
  • Certified Pharmacy Technician required (CPhT)
  • Must be licensed and/or registered (if required by state)

Basic Qualifications

  • Experience providing customer service to internal and external customers, including meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction.
  • Able to perform advanced level mathematical calculations.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • Basic email skills, internet explorer (sending, receiving, and organizing communications).
  • Basic Internet Explorer skills to include opening a browser, typing in URLs in the correct location, using a search engine, bookmarking a site, navigating using back/forward/stop buttons, and filling out forms online.

Physical Demand Requirements

  • Ability to stand for extended periods of time.
  • Frequent bending, stooping, reaching.
  • Ability to carry at least 30lbs

Preferred Qualifications & Interests (PQIs)

  • Certified Compounding Sterile Preparation Technician (CSPT)
  • Previous home health experience.

May perform other duties as assigned

Due to state pay transparency laws, the full range for the position is below:

Salary to be determined by the applicant's education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data.

Pay Range is $27.26-$45.45
