As a Lead Material Handler, you will: Mentor and train new material handlers. Fill in for supervisors when needed. Engage in lifting, lowering, and carrying products in a fast-paced environment. Stack empty pallets and maintain a clean, safe workspace. Operate material handling equipment such as forklifts, cherry pickers, and electric pallet jacks while adhering to safety procedures. Your role is crucial to the success of Staples Supply Chain as we work to serve our customers. Safety is our top priority, and you will be an example of our safety culture. Key Qualifications: Ability to become certified as a Material Handling Equipment Operator and safely operate the necessary equipment. A commitment to maintaining a clean work area. A collaborative approach to ensure strong relationships with colleagues and customers. Quick adaptation to safety procedures and a focus on safe work practices. Capability to work in a warehouse environment with temperature variations. Basic English language skills for effective communication. Basic Requirements: 12+ months of experience in a warehouse environment or equivalent training & education. Ability to pass a drug screen as legally permissible. Willingness to work additional hours if necessary based on business needs. Ability to lift, push, or pull items weighing up to 100 pounds. Must wear safety composite work shoes. Must be at least 18 years old. Preferred Qualifications: High School Diploma/GED or equivalent experience. What We Offer: Competitive Pay: $23.95/hour Complimentary work shoes after 30 days.
