At TBC Hotels, we’re looking for an experienced Maintenance Manager to take the lead on all engineering and maintenance operations at the Canopy by Hilton Washington DC Embassy Row , located in the heart of the city just steps from Dupont Circle. In this vital role, you'll be responsible for ensuring the hotel runs smoothly behind the scenes , supporting the comfort, safety, and satisfaction of every guest and team member. You’ll oversee day-to-day operations, lead a skilled maintenance team, and ensure the property’s systems, equipment, and physical spaces are in peak condition. Requirements : What You’ll Do : Lead and Supervise the Maintenance Team Directly manage a team of maintenance technicians, providing daily direction, coaching, and support. Assign work orders, manage shift coverage, and oversee on-call scheduling for 24 / 7 operational support. Foster a collaborative, respectful, and productive team culture aligned with TBC Hotels' values. Maintain and Optimize Building Systems Oversee routine preventive maintenance and repairs on all hotel systems including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, mechanical, lighting, elevators, and fire life safety systems.Conduct regular walkthroughs and inspections to identify issues and proactively address wear-and-tear or safety risks.Ensure timely response to service calls and maintenance-related guest or staff requests. Ensure Compliance and Safety Implement and enforce safety protocols and procedures for both guests and team members.Ensure all maintenance activities and repairs comply with local, state, and federal regulations and brand standards.Maintain detailed records of inspections, safety checks, and compliance reporting. Manage Vendors and Capital Projects Coordinate with external contractors and vendors for specialized repairs, equipment installation, or major upgrades.Source and negotiate service contracts, ensuring quality work and cost efficiency.Oversee renovation or construction projects, managing timelines and minimizing guest impact. Support Budget and Inventory Management Assist in creating and managing the maintenance department budget.Monitor expenditures, control supply usage, and ensure accurate inventory of parts, tools, and equipment.Identify cost-saving opportunities without compromising quality or guest experience. Act as Onsite Emergency Response Be the go-to leader in the event of maintenance-related emergencies, such as power outages, flooding, or equipment failures.Provide calm, fast, and effective solutions in high-pressure situations to restore normal operations. What We’re Looking For : 5–7 years of experience in hotel, building, or facilities maintenance (hospitality preferred).Previous experience managing a team in a fast-paced environment.Strong knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and other key systems; certifications highly preferred.Solid understanding of safety codes, regulations, and best practices.Tech-savvy with basic understanding of building automation and energy systems.Excellent communication, organization, and leadership skills.Must be able to work flexible hours including nights, weekends, or holidays as needed.
