Construction Estimator

Trueline is seeking a Construction Estimator to join their team in Southeast Michigan. This is a full-time, field-based role for a hands-on professional with deep knowledge of restoration work, strong estimating experience, and a sharp eye for detail. The ideal candidate will be proactive, tech-savvy, and capable of managing a dynamic workload in both residential and commercial environments.

What You'll Do as the Construction Estimator:

Prepare detailed, accurate scopes of work and cost estimates for insurance-related repairs, REO/foreclosure projects, and barrier-free construction.

Work closely with internal teams and subcontractors to ensure estimates reflect project specifications and budget targets.

Leverage industry-standard software and documentation tools to create timely proposals and maintain organized records.

Visit job sites, assess damage or construction needs, and gather necessary information for estimate development.

Contribute to job costing and pricing strategies, helping ensure projects align with financial goals and client expectations.

Assist in meeting compliance with insurance carrier guidelines and client-specific documentation requirements.

Must-Haves as the Construction Estimator:

Solid knowledge of general construction practices and restoration work

Proven experience in estimating, budgeting, and pricing

Strong proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook

Ability to manage time effectively and handle a high volume of work

Excellent organizational skills and a sharp attention to detail

Comfortable working flexible hours, including evenings and weekends as needed

Familiarity with insurance protocols and industry standards

Valid driver's license and ability to travel to job sites

Nice-To-Haves as the Construction Estimator:

Experience with kitchen and bath renovations

Proficiency with Xactimate or other estimating platforms

Existing relationships with subcontractors

Knowledge of ADA/barrier-free compliance

College degree (preferred but not required)
