The language assessment Specialist will administer the language proficiency test upon enrollment at the Family Resource Center. The candidate will be successfully.
- Administer Language proficiency test to potential English Learners, Spanish Dual Language.
- Help determine English learner status and comply with federal and state regulations and classification mandates.
- Assist families in making and informed choice about English learner programs (if eligible).
- Provide families guidance in the school enrollment process for English Learner and Dual language Learner Programs.
- Maintain accurate testing and student record information.
- Maintain student/family confidentiality.
- Be a source of information to ELL families in the district.
- Maintain accurate student testing data and ELL enrollment records/information.
- Perform other duties determined by the Coordinator of English Language Learner Programs.

The Language Assessment Specialist will experienced in the administration of the W-APT and other language assessments used in CPS. The candidate will be effective in working with immigrant families and create an environment that fosters mutual respect and cultural sensitivity.
Education: Bachelor's degree or highest from an accredited college or university with a concentration in ESL, TESOL, or Applied Linguistics.
Experience: At least 2 years of experience teaching high school ESL and teaching linguistically diverse students in an urban setting.
Languages: Proficiency and fluency in English and Spanish are required.
Length of Contract:
August 4, 2025 through August 31, 2025
Contract Amount:
Not to exceed $4160.00
Please note that your hourly rate is dependent upon your collective bargaining agreement or individual hourly rate. If you are a non-exempt employee and have worked more than 40 hours a week, you will be paid time and a half for any hours worked over 40 hours
