My client-a premier residential developer specializing in thoughtfully designed, urban communities-is seeking a Land Development Manager to support major site development efforts throughout Northern Virginia and Montgomery County. This role is ideal for someone with a solid background in land/site development, who thrives in the field and is comfortable managing multiple scopes such as utilities, paving, landscaping, and more. You'll report directly to the Production Manager and play a key role in delivering high-profile, high-impact community projects.
Description
The Land Development Manager - Multifamily/Home Builder will be responsible for:
Overseeing day-to-day site operations for residential land development projects
Coordinating with contractors, engineers, and utility providers to ensure timely progress
Monitoring site work for quality, safety, and compliance with plans and regulations
Scheduling and inspecting clearing, grading, utilities, paving, and other infrastructure
Resolving field issues and conflicts to maintain project timelines
Maintaining daily reports and communicating status updates to project managers
Ensuring erosion control and stormwater management measures are in place and effective
Conducting regular site walks to verify work meets specifications and standards
Managing punch lists and final acceptance processes with municipalities
Supporting budgeting and forecasting by providing input on field progress and challenges
Profile
The Land Development Manager - Multifamily/Home Builder will have:
at least 3 years of experience in site development (soil erosion, sediment control, earthwork, dry utilities, wet utilities, concrete, base paving, landscaping, streetlights, retaining walls, power, gas, etc.)
experience working for a site development contractor or within the land development division of another residential builder
proficiency in MS Office Suite
familiarity with scheduling & project management tools (MS Project, Procore, etc.)
excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 preferred
strong organizational skills
familiarity with construction processes, documents, and terminology
