We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Associate Attorney specializing in Labor & Employment (Defense) for a permanent position in our esteemed legal firm. The ideal candidate should have a strong background in labor and employment law, with a particular emphasis on California Labor Laws. This role requires a dynamic professional who is adept at civil litigation, legal writing, and research. The selected candidate will be responsible for representing our clients in complex labor and employment disputes, providing legal advice, and ensuring compliance with all relevant laws and regulations.
Responsibilities
Represent and defend clients in labor and employment disputes, including but not limited to, wrongful termination, discrimination, harassment, and wage and hour claims. Conduct thorough legal research and analysis to advise clients on various labor and employment issues. Draft, review, and negotiate employment contracts, agreements, policies, and procedures to ensure compliance with California Labor Laws and other relevant employment laws. Provide preventative counseling and training to clients regarding labor and employment matters. Manage all stages of litigation including drafting pleadings, discovery, motion practice, trials, appeals, and settlements. Collaborate with other attorneys and legal professionals to provide comprehensive legal solutions to our clients. Stay updated with changes in labor and employment laws and effectively communicate these changes to clients. Maintain the highest standards of professional conduct and ethics.
Qualifications
Juris Doctorate from an accredited law school. Admitted to practice law in the state of California. A minimum of 2+ years of experience in labor and employment law, with a focus on defense. Proven experience in civil litigation, legal writing, and legal research. In-depth knowledge of California Labor Laws and Federal Employment Laws. Strong negotiation skills and the ability to resolve complex disputes. Excellent oral and written communication skills. Ability to manage multiple cases with varying deadlines. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. High degree of professional ethics, integrity, and gravitas. A proactive approach, with the ability to work independently and within a team.
