Job Description
This position is in the UI Collections Department within the Unemployment Insurance (UI) Division in Columbia. The UI Collections Payment Specialist will manage the collection and posting of payments received for overpayments of UI Benefits. The individual will perform professional duties in receiving and posting payments to accounts, processing monthly Electronic Fund Transfers (EFT's), adjusting as needed to financial account records, verification and documentation of financial transactions. Duties also include quality checks, reviews and research to routine account inquires involving records for the Collection Division.

Minimum and Additional Requirements
Education and Experience
A high school diploma and one (1) year experience in unemployment insurance, data entry or bookkeeping experience. Numeracy and basic math skills; working knowledge of the principles, methods and practices of bookkeeping: Must have working knowledge of Microsoft Office Products with emphasis on Microsoft Excel.
Preferred Qualifications
A college degree in finance, or related discipline. Working knowledge of the UI Laws and procedures preferred, along with experience working in a fast-paced environment.
