Position Description - What the Role Entails:

These individual coordinates and complete the intake process of new clients. The intake coordinator assistant will provide compassionate, client-centered care to an underprivileged population, many of whom receive government assistance and face significant barriers to accessing healthcare, housing, and essential services. This role is vital in ensuring equitable access to treatment and support for individuals struggling with opioid use disorder (OUD) and other substance use disorders, other duties as needed.

Areas of Accountability - What you will be doing:

Schedule potential patient for an ASAM (American Society of Addiction Medicine) Biopsychosocial Assessment that will be administered by a certified alcohol and other drug counselor (CADC). The purpose of the ASAM assessment is to determine the patient's appropriate level of substance use disorder treatment and provide internal and external referrals for additional services, including mental health, medical care, housing, food, and clothing assistance.
Educate clients on RFS and funder policies, ensuring they understand their rights and responsibilities within the program.
Coordinate intake procedures by scheduling evaluations and physical assessments, gathering relevant data from referral agencies, and completing all required intake documentation.
Maintain accurate client records, update clinic census, and ensure compliance with waiting list regulations.
Actively participate in staff meetings, quality improvement committees (QIC), CARF accreditation processes, and clinical management discussions to enhance service delivery.
Work closely with the Quality Assurance (QA) and Utilization Review Committee to ensure contract compliance and adherence to best practices in service delivery.
Establish and maintain strong referral relationships with external agencies, including social service organizations, healthcare providers, and community partners, to enhance wraparound support for clients.
Engage in community outreach and events to promote MAR program services, educate the public about substance use treatment, and advocate for access to care for underserved populations.
Provide culturally competent and trauma-informed care, recognizing the unique challenges faced by individuals from marginalized backgrounds.
Support clients in navigating government assistance programs, Medicaid eligibility, and social service applications to remove barriers to care.

This position provides an opportunity to work with special populations, including individuals experiencing homelessness, justice-involved individuals, and those with co-occurring mental health disorders, aligning with internship and educational requirements for working with underprivileged communities.

Rincon's Work Environment - What to expect:

Intake Coordinator Assistant will be working onsite.
The Intake Assistant Coordinator will perform office-type work that does not require physical effort.

Schedule:

The Intake Assistant Coordinator will work Monday through Friday, from 6:30 PM to 2:00 PM.

Language:

Spanish/English Bilingual preferred.

Position Qualifications - What is required to Perform the Role:

Spanish/English Bilingual preferred.
High School Diploma or equivalent. All counselors must continue to get CEU's following the individual training plan set up with the supervisor.
Minimum of 1-year formal SA education from an accredited alcoholism/substance abuse accredited school. Must be seeking to obtain certification (IAODAPCA) CADC or CARS.
Certified in Alcohol and Drug Abuse Counselor (CADC)
