Instructional Aide
Instructional Aides provide support for full-time teachers, helping them with clerical work and classroom activities. This can involve providing individual attention to students in need of extra assistance, providing small group instruction, or monitoring students during independent work time. Instructional Aides also support the teacher with preparing instructional materials, student supervision and clerical duties as needed.
This position reports to the Assistant Principal. FLSA Status: Non-Exempt. Pay Cycle: 10 months. Salary: Commensurate with Experience. Benefits: Medical, Dental, Vision, Life Insurance, Retirement Plan.
Essential Functions:
- Regularly conduct small group learning sessions with identified groups of students.
- Provide individual and small group assistance with classwork.
- Monitor student engagement and work completion during direct instruction.
- Administer assessments as directed by the teacher/school administration.
Learning Environment:
- Prepare materials for the class under the direction of the teacher.
- Use an answer key to grade tests and student assignments, recording, grading, drafting correspondence to parents, and handling routine filing of student's work.
- Assist with the maintenance and organization of the classroom environment.
Student Supervision:
- Reinforce classroom rules and directions to promote positive student behavior.
- Supervise hallways, and/or playground during nutrition and lunch periods.
- Supervise students before, during and after school.
Professional Responsibilities:
- Maintain a professional appearance and demeanor at all times.
- Maintain collaborative relationships with co-workers.
- Arrive to work on time daily.
- Arrive to work assignments on time throughout the school day.
- Adhere to school/ICEF policies and procedures.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Job Requirements: Minimum Qualifications:
Education and/or Experience:
- Associates Degree or a minimum of 48 college units.
- Or passage of the CBEST and or Instructional Assistance Test (IAT).
- Skilled in Google, Word, Excel and Power Point.

- Must have strong organizational, problem-solving, and time-management skills.
- Must attend and participate in ICEF staff meetings as required.
- Must attend and participate in ICEF training programs as required.
- Must have reliable and insured transportation.
- Must be able to travel between schools and the home office as required as a condition of employment.
- Must show proof and maintain a clear TB, DOJ and FBI Clearance.
- Must provide documentation of eligibility to work in US.
Physical Demands:
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit; frequently required to talk or hear; and occasionally required to stand, walk, and reach with hands and arms, and/or use hands to finger, handle, or feel.
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to move and/or lift up to twenty-five (25) pounds.
- Specific vision abilities required by this position include close vision and the ability to adjust focus.
