JOB REQUIREMENTS: The Inclusive Leisure Assistant is responsible forproviding quality recreation-based services for the Adult RecreationProgram. ESSENTIAL DUTIES (FUNCTIONS) include the following: Interactswith participants in a respectful, age-appropriate, andculturally-appropriate manner by honoring participant preferences andrequests, in conjunction with behavior plans and care information. Workscooperatively with Recreation Supervisor and Recreation Program Managerto provide interesting and stimulating program activities that areappropriate for most participants, which include recreation andeducational enrichment. Completes and maintains accurate records of allactivities and required paperwork (weekly logs, attendance sheets, etc)in a timely manner. Ensures the facility is prepared and ready foractivities (opening doors, turning on lights, preparing any specialequipment and/or supplies for the activity, etc) Provides individualizedassistance to participants in recreation and after school activities, asneeded. Acts as an appropriate role model for participants. Encouragesparticipants to socialize, communicate, and fulfill needs independently.Redirects participants through positive actions. Reports all possiblecases of illness to the Recreation Supervisor or Recreation ProgramManager and provides assistance to participants that become ill while atthe center. Ensures the safety of each participant by monitoringactivities, maintaining a sanitary, clutter-free environment, andparticipating in safety training and emergency drills.
