HVAC Technician

Scope:
The HVAC Technician position is responsible for performing highly diversified duties to install, troubleshoot, repair and maintain production and facility equipment according to safety, predictive and productive maintenance systems and processes to support the achievement of the Club’s business goals and objectives. You will also be responsible for providing leadership and training for team members that may benefit from your experienced role.
Primary Responsibilities:
Installation of HVAC units, electronic and mechanical components.
Installation of HVAC flexible tubing and sheet metal construction.
Reads blueprints, piping, sketches, schematics and wiring diagrams.
Install or replace /repair gas lines, copper pipe fitting, capillary tubes.
May perform brazing, soldering, pipefitting, welding and fabrication.
Install condensate piping & intake/exhaust venting.
Recognized expert in all aspects of commercial.
Understand OSHA regulations and safety requirements for all aspects of the service trade.
Note: Other duties as assigned by supervisor or management.
Relationships:
Internal: All Club departments: For effective communication.
External: Members/Guests: To provide excellent service. Vendors: To purchase and receive goods.
Qualifications:
Experience:
15 – 20 or more years’ experience in electrical systems, HVAC, and mechanical systems required.
Good working knowledge of commercial plumbing systems, HVAC systems electrical, etc.
Strong HVAC installation, repair and diagnosis.
Ability to read, write, and comprehend and carry out instruction with computer, specifically in Microsoft Word and Excel
Education
High School diploma or equivalent required.
Certification and/or License Requirement:
Must have EPA Certification (Universal)
NM-3 HVAC License
Valid state driver’s license and clean MVR.
Skills:
Aptitude and ability to troubleshoot and repair HVAC systems.
Ability to use diagnostic tools and equipment to test combustion gas appliances.
Ability to read, write, and speak English.
Ability to complete detailed written reports of materials used, work completed and technical conditions of combustion gas appliances.
Attention to detail, excellent organizational and time management skills.
The ability to exercise good judgement and discretion.
Must possess the ability to interact with members and staff on all levels in a professional, positive, and friendly manner.
Ability to use personal vehicle and personal hand tools.
Ability to utilize a variety of equipment in the installation, maintenance, repair, testing, electrical, HVAC, etc.
Ability to work under limited supervision.
Ability to work extended work days including weekends, holidays, and “on-call”.
Working Conditions:
Physical/Cognitive Activities:
Requires ability to bend, stoop, lift, and carry items up to 60lbs.
Requires working in an outdoor environment with fluctuating temperatures.
Requires working in an outdoor environment with rugged, uneven terrain.
Ability to stand and work for prolonged periods of time.
May experience exposure to airborne particles, caustic, chemicals, electrical current, fumes, high places, moving parts on machinery, muscular strain, noise and extreme weather conditions.
