Job Description
Scope:
Supports the Director of Housekeeping in overseeing all housekeeping operations—including guest rooms, public areas, and back-of-house spaces—to ensure the highest standards of cleanliness, presentation, and guest satisfaction are consistently met.
Primary Responsibilities:
Assist in recruiting, training, mentoring, and evaluating housekeeping team members, fostering career growth and maintaining performance excellence.
Inspect guest rooms, public areas, restrooms, storage spaces, and laundry facilities to ensure compliance with cleanliness and safety standards.
Coordinate daily work assignments and staff schedules based on occupancy forecasts and operational needs.
Oversee inventory control for linens, amenities, and cleaning supplies; assist with monthly stock counts and vendor ordering/receiving.
Ensure timely completion of Housekeeper’s Reports and communicate room status updates to the Guest Services team.
Report maintenance issues promptly to the Engineering Department and follow up to verify resolution.
Respond promptly and courteously to guest requests, ensuring follow-up for complete satisfaction.
Maintain a professional image and serve as a role model for grooming, dress, and service behavior.
Lead safety, security, and service procedure training sessions for the housekeeping team.
Serve as Manager on Duty as scheduled.
Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations, including OSHA, EEOC, wage/hour, and health codes.
Key Relationships:
Internal:
Guest Services: Coordinate room status, special requests, and service recovery.
Engineering: Communicate repair needs and safety hazards.
External:
Guests: Deliver exceptional service and resolve concerns.
Vendors: Manage supply orders and deliveries.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent; minimum two years of housekeeping or related experience, including supervisory responsibilities.
Strong preference for candidates with proven excellence in hotel or resort housekeeping operations.
Housekeeping and/or alcohol awareness certification as required by local regulations or brand standards.
