We re seeking an experienced
Nocturnist Hospitalist
to support a busy academic acute care hospital in
Staten Island, NY . This is a locum tenens role aimed at improving hospital throughput, admission quality, and overnight supervision ideal for physicians with a strong background in inpatient medicine and an interest in mentoring residents. Position Overview: Location:

Shift:
7:00 PM 7:00 AM
Schedule:
Flexible; 7-on/7-off preferred
Duration:
6-month initial contract
Census:
Approx. 20 patients per provider; daily admissions across all shifts
Admissions:
Overnight ER admissions triage and management
Support:
In-house residents
EMR:
Meditech
Responsibilities: Overnight coverage for Internal Medicine services
Supervise and mentor residents on night shift
Respond to codes and rapid responses
Assist with central line placement/removal (no intubations or scoping)
Triage and determine admission appropriateness for overnight ER presentations
Ideal Candidate: Board-Certified or Board-Eligible
in Internal Medicine (Family Medicine considered with strong hospitalist experience)
Active NY License
required
ACLS, BLS, DEA
certifications
Minimum
2 years of hospitalist experience
Comfortable in high-volume, academic environments with complex patients
Teaching experience or prior GME supervision a plus
Additional Info: Emergency credentialing available
