Job Description AXIS is seeking a Head of Management Liability, Financial Institutions, to join our North America Claims team to support the expansion of AXIS presence in the Financial Lines Market in North America. The successful candidate should possess the ability to lead and develop a team of claims professionals handling a variety of claims, including Management Liability Claims such as Private Equity, Investment Advisors E&O and D&O, Insurance Professional Liability, Bankers Professional Liability, Transactional, and Contingent Risk. The role involves working closely with colleagues across AXIS Insurance, including North American Claims, International Claims, and the Business Units in order to develop and execute an industry-leading claims strategy. The leader will utilize data-driven reporting and metrics to deliver excellent service, support professional growth, and ensure effective communication and stakeholder engagement. This role will lead and develop a team of claims professionals responsible for: Managing claims investigations, analysis, and evaluation of coverage, liability, and damages Providing aggregate reporting for the North America Financial Institutions Claims portfolio Partnering with Underwriting and Actuarial teams on claim metrics, trends, and risk assessments Developing a best-in-class Panel for middle market segments of CMS and FI Claims Collaborating on coverage disputes, litigation, and arbitration matters involving Axis companies Assessing when to involve outside coverage counsel and managing external legal resources Formulating claims management strategies and directing outside counsel Providing strategic guidance to claims teams and managing costs Supporting underwriting inquiries and data analysis Mentoring and developing staff, recruiting, and succession planning Building relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including brokers, insureds, attorneys, and reinsurers Engaging in extensive communication with senior leadership and external partners Demonstrating AXIS values: People, Decisiveness, Excellence, and Stronger Together KEY SKILLS & ABILITIES: 7-10+ years in claims management with leadership experience in relevant lines, including: Leadership, organizational, and management skills Reputation for leadership and technical expertise Ability to influence and collaborate across organizational levels Strong analytical and data skills Understanding of claims, litigation, arbitration, and trial processes Excellent communication skills Experience handling diverse loss scenarios, including CAT losses Legal qualification and bar admission is a plus Willingness to travel for work-related activities
