Amazon Web Services (AWS) is seeking an experienced content strategist with a deep knowledge of large-scale events to manage the content strategy, development, and delivery for AWS global events. The Head of Global Event Content will design and implement content strategy and operations across the AWS event portfolio including AWS re:Invent, AWS re:Inforce, the global AWS Summit program, and internal events. This senior leadership role combines strategic leadership with hands-on team management, overseeing comprehensive content development and delivery across AWS's event portfolio. In this role, you will work with senior leadership across all of AWS to gain consensus and buy-in on content strategy designed with intentional attendee journeys in mind, and brings to life AWS's brand vision and business strategy. You will manage a team of content managers responsible for the execution of the content strategy. You will also be responsible for developing content tools and processes that will be available and scalable globally for teams around the globe.

Key job responsibilities include:

  • Lead and manage a team of content event managers, and operational specialists
  • Manage content strategy at a global level, understanding audience journeys, business objectives, and unique needs of each event in the portfolio
  • Act in the content lead role for AWS re:Invent, overseeing 45 workstreams at the strategic and operational level to ensure flawless execution of content for AWS's flagship event
  • Manage operational processes across the team, including implementation of standardized processes across all programs
  • Manage vendor relationships including selection and security reviews, and budgets of over $2MM
  • Oversee content readiness workflows, including speaker certification processes, technical checks, and session risk assessments across all delivery methods
  • Partner closely with senior business and technical leaders to understand key messaging and product roadmaps in order to build successful content strategy across events

Basic Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of professional non-internship marketing experience
  • Experience managing teams
  • Experience using data and metrics to drive improvements
  • Experience with Excel or Tableau (data manipulation, macros, charts and pivot tables)
  • Experience driving direction and alignment with cross-functional teams
  • Experience communicating results to senior leadership
  • Experience in leadership roles, overseeing teams conducting data analysis, process improvements, creative problem solving, and cross-functional collaboration

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience leading across multiple locales

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $140,500/year in our lowest geographic market up to $232,400/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
