Our Technical Operations team includes aircraft maintenance technicians, engineers, planners, ground equipment and facilities professionals, and supply chain teams that ensure our fleet is well maintained and ready to get our customers to their destinations. Key Responsibilities: Troubleshoot, repair, and perform preventative maintenance on Ground Service Equipment (motorized and non-motorized) Conduct diagnostic testing and repair of gas engines, transmissions, suspension, and brake systems Troubleshoot and repair diesel engines, heavy industrial equipment, including large aircraft air conditioners, air start units, and ground electrical power units Ground Service Equipment Technicians are represented by the International Brotherhood of Teamsters (IBT) Schedules are bid and awarded based on seniority Salary increases follow the current IBT/United contract New employees must join the union within ninety (90) days of employment Union initiation fee and monthly dues are set by the Local Lodge Qualifications Minimum Qualifications: At least 24 months of experience troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining gas and diesel engines, electrical and hydraulic systems, and motorized equipment High school diploma, GED, or equivalent Valid state-issued driver’s license Ability to work any shift, including nights, weekends, holidays, and overtime, in a 24/7 operation Ability to climb ladders and work from heights, and walk for extended periods Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions Ability to work in high noise environments Moderate lifting ability Computer skills for data input and retrieval Preferred Qualifications: Completion certificate from an accredited automotive school Experience with motorized equipment supporting airport ground operations The sign-on bonus is available only for external candidates; internal applicants are not eligible. Starting pay is $38.23 per hour. This position is eligible for bonuses (profit sharing).
