Job Title: Grading Civil Superintendent Location: Newark, NJ Reports To: Project Manager Company: SkillForce Salary: $150,000 – $200,000 annually (based on experience and qualifications) Position Overview: SkillForce is hiring a Grading Civil Superintendent to lead field operations on a major airport infrastructure project in Newark, NJ. This role is critical to the success of a $200M+ project, requiring expertise in managing grading crews, enforcing safety, and maintaining schedules on large, high-security job sites. Candidates must have prior experience on infrastructure projects of $200M+ in the NYC Metro Area and understand the unique logistical and regulatory demands of these environments . Key Responsibilities: Manage grading operations and field crews on a major airport project

Coordinate with engineers, subcontractors, vendors, and airport stakeholders

Enforce strict safety protocols and correct jobsite hazards

Ensure compliance with project plans, specs, and regulatory standards

Track daily progress and maintain accurate project documentation

Forecast and resolve schedule or production issues

Mentor field staff on methods, equipment, and company policies

Qualifications: 10+ years in heavy civil construction; 5+ in a supervisory role

Proven experience on $200M+ infrastructure projects

Background in NYC Metro construction environments

Expertise in grading, erosion control, water/sewer/storm systems

Familiarity with union labor and prevailing wage requirements

Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills

Proficient in Microsoft Office

Valid Driver’s License required

High School Diploma required; Bachelor’s in Civil Engineering preferred
