Position Summary : This position involves customer service and assisting with supply preparation for the EIO department at the Georgia Museum of Agriculture. The position will also be performing a wide variety of duties required by the Director/Assistant Director of Stores and Shops.  Primary Duties:Primary duties for this position include, but are not limited to: Provide visitors with living history interpretation at The Drug Store within the GMA in period- and site-appropriate costume.Interpretation focuses on the culture, lifeways, and importance of community as relevant to the time-period and environment of the assigned work site. Provide customer service to workshops and other educational programing for students of all ages (including adults). Maintain cleanliness and preservation of the Drug Store. Maintain all inventory for supplies for EIO workshops and general merchandise. Assist in maintaining a safe and clean environment for all guests and co-workers. Required Qualifications High School diploma required; one or more years of college preferred (or equivalent experience). Strong customer service focus and the ability/desire to ensure excellent experience for all visitors and constituents. Very strong interpersonal skills are a necessity. Demonstrated ability to work well with people of diverse ages (3 years to 100 years) and various educational and personal backgrounds. Friendly, open, and professional demeanor with demonstrated ability to initiate conversations with guests and anticipate their needs. The ability to engage visitors daily to provide excellent customer service and a memorable experience. Ability to adapt to a changing work environment, including work outdoors in varying weather conditions, and contact with pollen and dust. Ability to work Saturdays. The ability to wear a costume that is period- and site-appropriate daily. Ability to count money. Ability to work on a POS system. Must be able to acquire ServSafe certification within 5 months of employment.
