Position Summary We’re seeking a reliable and experienced Residential Geothermal HVAC Service Technician to join a top-tier team specializing in ground-source heat pump systems. This is a fantastic opportunity for an HVAC professional with at least 7 years of field experience who’s looking to step into high-efficiency systems while maintaining work-life balance.
Technicians can live anywhere in Maryland . You’ll be provided with a fully stocked company van (take-home) and scheduled for jobs as close to home as possible . You’ll only need to report to our Harford County HQ twice per month , and enjoy consistent 40–45 hour weeks . While this role is mostly local, occasional overnight travel may be required .
Key Responsibilities Install, service, and maintain residential geothermal HVAC systems (2–6 ton capacity)
Connect and test horizontal and vertical ground loop systems
Tie in indoor air handlers, ductwork, thermostats, and smart home integrations
Conduct seasonal system checks, maintenance visits, and component servicing
Troubleshoot issues with refrigerants, circulation pumps, heat exchangers, and controls
Clearly communicate with homeowners regarding system performance and care
Document service visits and manage scheduling/invoicing through mobile tools
Basic Qualifications Minimum 7 years of HVAC experience in residential or light-commercial settings
EPA 608 Certification (Type II or Universal)
Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
Ability to work in confined spaces (attics, crawlspaces) and outdoor conditions
Strong communication and customer service skills
Preferred Qualifications 1–3 years of direct experience with geothermal loop systems
HVAC trade school certificate or technical licensure
Working knowledge of refrigerant pressures, system diagnostics, and zone controls
Experience with mobile scheduling and service apps
IGSHPA, BPI, or NATE certifications a plus
Bilingual in Spanish/English a bonus
