Responsibilities

•Assess the patient's overall dental health and look for the presence of dental diseases by thoroughly examining the patient's teeth using diagnostic tools, procedures, and instruments
•Diagnose oral diseases and provide appropriate treatment for common dental problems, including cleanings, root canals, surgical extractions, and restoration
•Ensure all work is compliant with infection and infectious diseases control standards, office policies and procedures, and safety, OSHA, and MSDS guidelines
•Oversee associate dentists, dental hygienists, dental assistants, and administrative staff, and communicate with support staff regarding patient care plans
•Refer patient to dental specialists such as pediatric dentists, orthodontists, endodontists, and periodontists when appropriate
•Identify oral diseases and provide appropriate treatment for common dental problems including cleanings, restoration, root canals, and surgical extractions
•Show patients how to use recommended devices for orthodontics and dental appliances, such as retainers and dentures and educate on the importance of good oral hygiene
•Inspect the patients' teeth thoroughly using diagnostic tools, procedures, and instruments to identify any areas of dental diseases and determine the overall state of dental health

Qualifications

•Additional certifications required: CPR, BLS, and NPI
•Up-to-date knowledge of dental standards and guidelines, public health standards, and dental medicine trends and advances is desired
•A minimum of two years of dentistry experience in clinical or private practice is required
•Board Certified and/or Board Eligible in General Dentistry
•Familiarity with computers
