Job DescriptionWe are seeking an experienced and dynamic Finance & Accounting Leader to provide strategic and operational oversight for TOMRA Food’s US and Canadian entities. This visible leadership role will manage a team of accounting professionals while fostering a high-energy, positive, and collaborative team culture.
This position is responsible for ensuring the integrity, accuracy, and timeliness of all financial data, driving the month-end close process, overseeing internal controls, and coordinating external audits, tax filings, and insurance processes. The leader will guide daily accounting operations, monitor team workflow, and serve as the go-to accounting authority for both internal stakeholders and external partners.

Primary Job Functions
- Accounting oversight for both US and Canadian entities
- Manage the daily activities of the accounting department
- Implement, monitor, and enhance accounting and internal control procedures; assure internal control compliance
- Manage operational financial data and ensure data integrity and accuracy
- Audit team workflow to assure that accounting transactions are appropriately authorized, complete, and properly reflected in the accounts
- Review and reconcile General Ledger detail through IFS Applications; prepare and post proper adjusting journal entries
- Drive periodic closing and reporting process into Cognos
- Ensure periodic financial reporting is accurate, complete, and timely
- Reconcile and maintain capital asset records through IFS Applications
- Reconcile and maintain vehicle fleet lease records
- Work on special projects, including annual audit preparation
- Coordinate with external tax advisors regarding federal and state income tax, including issuing payments and maintaining records
- Coordinate with external insurance providers regarding corporate insurance benefits, including issuing payments
- Provide accounting system support to internal users
- Respond to queries and requests from various departments
- Support Finance Director Americas as needed
- Execute other duties as assigned

Financial and Business Management
- Meet financial targets by owning the assigned budget
- Develop and implement the business short-, medium- and long-term priorities in accordance with the business strategy, to achieve short- and long-term success
- Accurately plan and forecast the assigned business to include performance, resources and finances
People Management & Communication
- Manage performance, career and succession plans for direct team
- Develop a high performing & accountable team and facilitate team’s achievement of goals & objectives
- Develops productive relationships and maintain an atmosphere of trust
- Effectively communicates using TOMRA Values and leadership principles as the foundation
- Fosters an environment of teamwork and collaboration
- Promotes a culture of feedback to ensure understanding
- University degree in Business, with concentration in Accounting; or a related field
- 7+ years of hands-on managerial accounting experience, providing requisite general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, tax, and business analysis skills
- 7+ years working within an ERP system
- 3+ years of experience leading and managing direct reports
- Technical experience ideally in multinational/private sector background
- Inventory controls and costing experience preferred
- CPA Certification a plus
- Knowledge of IFS Applications and Cognos a plus
- This is a Supervisory role
- Ability to work in an open office environment as well as industrial customer worksites.
- Ability to sit at desk for long periods of time
- Kneel, bend, and stand as necessary
- Ability to lift 5-10 lbs.
Additional Information
Pay Band
For U.S. applicants, in accordance with applicable disclosure requirements, the anticipated annual base pay range for this position is $110,000 to $125,000. The actual salary offer will carefully consider a wide range of factors, including your skills, qualifications, experience and location.
