Field Service Technician 

Position Summary:
As a Field Service Technician (FST), you will assist with the installation, repair, and preventative maintenance of non-IT healthcare equipment at client sites. This is a hands-on, customer-facing role that requires attention to detail, communication skills, and a strong sense of responsibility. Training and resources will be provided to support your success.


Key Responsibilities
  • Install, troubleshoot, and repair healthcare equipment in client facilities.

  • Complete and submit daily timecards and expense reports.

  • Accurately document all work performed using written notes and photos.

  • Maintain organized records using Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, Outlook).

  • Demonstrate professional conduct when interacting with clients, team members, and leadership.

  • Communicate clearly and respectfully in both written and verbal form.

  • Follow all safety protocols and company policies.

  • Protect company and client property by keeping tools, equipment, and job sites clean and organized.

  • Maintain environmental awareness and leave job sites in proper condition.

  • Occasional overnight travel may be required.


Job DutiesCommunication
  • Coordinate with Field Manager and client contacts to understand the scope of work.

  • Report real-time issues or changes in scope to the Team Lead or Project Manager.

  • Communicate respectfully and professionally with all stakeholders throughout the project.

Scheduling
  • Arrive on-site on time and ready to work.

  • Notify team leads of any delays that could impact project timelines.

Installations
  • Read and interpret installation diagrams and blueprints.

  • Assist with determining proper equipment placement.

  • Keep job areas clean and free of debris.

  • Use hand tools and power tools safely and effectively.

  • Assist with light construction tasks such as drywall, masonry, or tile work (training provided if needed).

Reporting and Documentation
  • Complete detailed sign-off forms (templates provided).

  • Take clear photos of completed work and any issues encountered.

  • Upload documentation and photos to the company system in real time.

Inventory Management
  • Confirm all parts and inventory are available before beginning installation.

  • Identify and report any damaged or missing inventory.

  • Record part numbers and take photos when necessary.

  • Ensure all unused items are returned to their proper packaging.

Training
  • Review installation videos and documents prior to each new project.

  • Ongoing training will be provided to support continued learning and skill development.


Preferred Experience 
  • High school diploma or GED

  • Familiarity with standard hand tools, power drills, and basic construction tools

  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)

  • Previous experience in a field service or hands-on repair role (1+ year preferred)

  • Experience with inventory tracking or reporting a plus


Preferred Qualifications
  • Background in construction, electronics, plumbing, or similar technical trades

  • Strong customer service or client-facing experience

  • Comfortable working independently and as part of a team

  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical tasks on job sites
