A turn-key setup of a small automotive metal fabrication facility in Dallas is in search of a hands-on and experienced person to handle various aspect of setting up a warehouse/plant including its overall maintenance needs.
Position Objective:
The Maintenance Manager is responsible for coordinating and executing all preventive and corrective maintenance activities in the plant, ensuring the proper functioning of machinery, tools, equipment, and facility infrastructure. The role supports the production of retrofitted vehicles by minimizing equipment downtime and ensuring workplace safety and operational continuity. This position combines hands-on technical work with supervision of maintenance personnel and external service providers.
Main functions:
1. Preventive & Corrective Maintenance
Receive, inspect and install the arriving machinery and equipment
Perform and supervise maintenance on mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems used in the production process (e.g., welding machines, grinders, compressors, painting booths, forklift).
Develop and follow preventive maintenance schedules for all critical equipment and utilities.
Respond promptly to breakdowns or failures that affect production, ensuring timely repairs.
2. Facility Management
Maintain the buildings infrastructure, including lighting, ventilation, plumbing, power supply, and access control systems.
Coordinate repairs and upkeep of workshop areas, office facilities, and storage zones.
Monitor and maintain air and power systems (e.g., air compressors, electrical panels).
3. Supervision and Planning
Monitor the status of maintenance requests and maintain updated service logs.
Request materials, tools, and spare parts as needed, coordinating with purchasing and warehouse teams.
Schedule and supervise external service providers when needed (e.g., warehouse and offices keeping, pest control, waste mgmt. and disposal, HVAC, electrical contractors).
4. Safety and Compliance
Ensure all equipment is operated and maintained in accordance with safety standards and internal policies.
Support compliance with local environmental and occupational safety regulations.
Report risks or hazards and implement corrective actions to prevent incidents.
Job Requirements:
Education:
Technical degree (desired but not necessary) in Industrial Maintenance, Electromechanics, Mechatronics, or related field.
Minimum 3 years of experience in plant/warehouse maintenance roles, preferably in automotive or manufacturing settings.
Technical knowledge:
Solid knowledge of industrial electrical systems, pneumatic and hydraulic systems, and welding equipment.
