Maintenance & Facilities Manager – Milwaukee, WI We’re seeking a proactive and experienced Maintenance & Facilities Manager to lead the skilled trades team at our Milwaukee facility. This role will oversee all aspects of facility maintenance—including buildings, grounds, utilities, and complex manufacturing equipment such as die casting, stamping, plating, robotics, and automated machining. The ideal candidate will be a hands-on leader with a strong technical background and a passion for continuous improvement, problem-solving, and team development. What You Will Do Lead, schedule, and manage all maintenance and facilities operations, including skilled trades, utilities, janitorial staff, maintenance planning, and crib inventory. Drive hands-on, innovative repair and maintenance solutions that are simple, effective, and sustainable. Collaborate across departments to identify opportunities and implement cost-saving initiatives (e.g., reducing downtime, optimizing PM schedules, cutting utility consumption, and controlling inventory). Develop and implement structured maintenance systems that streamline work planning, improve accountability, and minimize equipment downtime. Train, coach, and develop team members to meet skill and safety requirements while fostering a culture of ownership and high performance. Handle all supervisory responsibilities including hiring, training, performance reviews, discipline, and succession planning—for both salaried and union-represented associates. Analyze maintenance and spare parts data to uncover trends, identify root causes, and lead efforts to eliminate equipment breakdowns and recurring issues. Apply lean manufacturing principles such as TPM, visual factory, standard work, kaizen, and Industry 4.0 concepts to drive efficiency and eliminate waste. Oversee facility compliance with environmental, safety, and regulatory standards including hazardous waste, wastewater treatment, accident response, and audit preparation. What You Will Need Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline or completion of a Skilled Trades Journeyman Certification. 10+ years of progressive technical leadership experience—preferably with experience managing unionized skilled trades. Proven experience leading maintenance in a manufacturing environment with exposure to high-complexity systems (die casting, plating, stamping, robotics, etc.). Experience with facility transitions such as plant closures, moves, or consolidations. Strong working knowledge of hazardous waste protocols, OSHA compliance, wastewater systems, and first-response procedures. Demonstrated ability to collect, analyze, and present maintenance data to support strategic decision-making. Effective communication and leadership skills with the ability to influence and lead cross-functional teams. Familiarity with lean manufacturing concepts, structured problem-solving, and maintenance systems (e.g., CMMS, TPM). Experience managing capital and cost-reduction projects in a fast-paced, results-driven environment. Medical, Dental, 401K, etc.!
