FRONT DESK SUPERVISOR
Salary Range $22.00-$23.00 per hour
Position Summary
The Front Desk Supervisor is responsible for leading the front office team to deliver exceptional guest service and operational excellence. This role ensures that all front desk functions are executed efficiently and in alignment with brand standards, while fostering a welcoming and professional environment for guests and staff. The supervisor supports training initiatives, monitors performance, and acts as a key liaison between guests and hotel departments to ensure a seamless and memorable stay experience.
Essential Functions
Operational Leadership Supervise and coordinate all front desk activities to ensure efficient and guest-centric service delivery.
Monitor and maintain high levels of productivity, team morale, and guest satisfaction.
Ensure compliance with hotel policies, procedures, and brand standards.
Team Development & Training Assist the Front Office Manager in onboarding, training, and mentoring front desk associates.
Conduct ongoing training in guest service excellence, property management systems (PMS), and brand protocols.
Guest Services Greet, check-in, and check-out guests in accordance with established procedures.
Provide guests with information about hotel amenities, local attractions, and services.
Respond promptly to guest inquiries, requests, and complaints with professionalism and empathy.
Reservations & Communication Manage room reservations including booking, modifications, and cancellations.
Operate the hotel’s phone system, route calls appropriately, and take accurate messages.
Coordinate with other departments to fulfill special guest requests and ensure personalized service.
Financial Transactions Perform cashiering functions including handling payments, posting charges, and reconciling accounts.
Process traveler’s checks and other forms of payment securely and accurately.
Safety & Security Follow hotel safety protocols and emergency procedures to ensure guest and staff well-being.
Maintain awareness of security procedures and report any concerns to management.
Facility Oversight Ensure the front desk and lobby areas are clean, organized, and welcoming at all times.
Report maintenance issues and ensure prompt resolution.
Communication & Reporting Escalate guest or operational issues to the Front Office Manager or Assistant Manager as needed.
Maintain accurate logs and reports for shift handovers and management review.
Additonal Expectations
Flexibility to work varied shifts including weekends, holidays, and overnight as business demands.
Adherence to all hotel policies, procedures, and standards outlined in the employee handbook.
Education And Experience
Prior experience in hotel front desk operations or hospitality customer service.
Proficiency in property management systems (PMS) and point-of-sale (POS) systems preferred.
Skills & Compentencies
Strong leadership and team-building abilities.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to remain calm and professional in high-pressure situations.
Detail-oriented with strong organizational and multitasking skills.
Physical ability to stand for extended periods and work in a fast-paced environment.
