The Prince George's County Department of Social Services is currently seeking qualified applicants to fill an Executive Administrative Aide,(Executive Administrative Aide)grade G21 position, in the Family Investment Division.
About the Position
The employee shall serve as an Executive Administrative Assistant in the Family Investment Division. The Executive Administrative Assistant will report directly to the Assistant Director and is responsible for acting as departmental liaison with central agencies to address and resolve key management and administrative problems. An employee in this position exercises extensive independence, subject to established departmental policy and will provide exceptional customer service to both internal and external customers that meets or exceeds standards set by the department.

We do this by providing intervention services that strengthen families, protect children and vulnerable adults, encourage self-sufficiency and promote personal responsibility. We assist our customers through such programs as Temporary Cash Assistance, Food Supplement Program, Medical Assistance, Emergency Assistance, and Foster Care and Adoption Service.
Examples of Work
* The Executive Administrative Assistant performs the highest level of professional, administrative, and supervisory staff work, primarilyresponsible for handling the most complex administrative assignments. Incumbents in this class provide high-level non-routine administrative assistance to department heads. * Counsels management in developing and maintaining sound organizational structures, improving management methods and procedures; sees to the objective use of personnel, budget, and material; collaborates with Personnel, Budget, Finance, and other departments in finding solutions that arise in the management of an organization. * Plans and coordinates activities related to the administration of the Family Investment Division policies, procedures, and assignments. * Performs a variety of complex administrative and professional work in planning, coordinating, and managing the implementation, maintenance, andadherence to the department's policy and procedures. * Coordinates events associated with an on-site assessment, including contract issues, publichearings, transportation, etc. * Reviews, analyzes, and reports on a wide variety of complex technical issues. * Willingly and cooperatively performs tasks and duties which may not be listed explicitly in the class specification or position description, but which are within the general occupational category and responsibility level typically associated with the employee's class of work. * Provides excellent customer service to internal and external customers, community and government partners, and other members of the public seeking to partner with or receive services from the Agency, and generally liaison with programs and services administered by the Agency. * Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
* Must have experience at the Administrative Aide IV level equal to the length of the probationary period OR * Associates degree in Business Administration or Secretarial Science. and three (3) years of senior level secretarial/administrative experience which involved working with the public, office management and operational details, and staff supervision.
Any equivalent combination of relevant training, education and experience mayalso be considered.

Conditions of Employment: Upon selection, the candidate must:
* Must pass an administered Administrative Aide exam. Applicants who have previously taken the exam on or after 8/1/2024, and passed, will not be required to re-test; instead, previous test scores will be used to receive the passing disposition. * Meet all training and performance standards and demonstrate proficiency as required by the agency. * Wear and use agency protective apparel and equipment in the performance of their assigned duties. * Successfully pass preemployment checks which may include reference checks, background investigations, and drug screenings, where applicable. * Be willing and able to serve as an essential employee. Essential employees are expected to report during standard or non-standard hours as operations necessitate, or during emergencies. Essential employees are expected to report or remain at work when other County employees are granted Administrative Leave.
