GPD is currently seeking a Social Events Coordinator in our Akron, OH office location who will successfully plan and execute company events, while supporting our teams with on-site meetings and team-building events. This role supports, facilitates, and carries out the culture at GPD through events that bring people together and celebrate who we are.
The ideal candidate will: Be a self-starter who thrives in a fast-paced environment and has a social and engaging spirit, who enjoys working as a team player or can work independently. Have a minimum of 2-4 years prior experience , as an on-site event coordinator, in a hospitality role or an office environment supporting the overall organization planning events. Enjoy problem solving and executing time management skills in a multiple tasking environment. Possess strong organizational skills , with an eye for detail. Possess strong communication skills and the ability to work with all levels within the organization and across multiple office locations. Be flexible, confident, and resourceful to respond to changes. Be able to handle confidential information in a professional manner. Have an education record of a HS diploma, or an associate or bachelor's degree in related field. Have experience with MS Excel and Word, Canva and Survey Monkey (or similar programs). Be able to do local travel on occasion to attend events, with the ability to work some weekend/evening events . Have a valid Driver's License (required). Day-to-day job responsibilities: Oversee the event life cycle from planning, event set-up and tear-down coordination and close-out. Plan and lead employee engagement events on-site. Work with our community partners to plan and execute events. Manage food and beverage for trainings, on-site client meetings, and events. Administrative responsibilities include but are not limited to: working with caterers or vendors for food ordering, executing written and verbal correspondence, designing promotional materials, shipping, etc. Manage inventories and supplies necessary for supporting events and on-site meetings. Work directly with on-site liaisons in other office locations to plan and execute events. Use Excel, Word, MS Forms, Survey Monkey, and Canva programs, create and track registrations, create promotional materials, etc. Able to carry or lift 50 pounds.
