Job Description

Job Description

We are seeking a dynamic and driven Event & Catering Sales Manager to join our growing hospitality team. This is an in-person position based at our Milwaukee location, where the employee will be expected to work on-site regularly. The role is primarily focused on managing the full lifecycle of event bookings for our Milwaukee-based venues, with a secondary focus on the broader events program. In addition to on-site responsibilities in Milwaukee, this position will require remote support and occasional in-person support for Chicago-based events.

As the Event Sales Manager, you will collaborate closely with our Chicago-based Sales Director and internal teams to create exceptional experiences for clients and maximize event revenue. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced hospitality environment and has a passion for sales, client relations, and executing flawless events.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement strategies to increase event bookings and drive revenue.
  • Manage the entire event sales process from inquiry to contract execution.
  • Collaborate with culinary, operations, and marketing teams to build compelling event packages.
  • Conduct site tours, client meetings, and presentations.
  • Draft and negotiate event proposals and contracts.
  • Maintain accurate records in the event management system (TripleSeat).
  • Lead outbounding efforts and attend networking events to expand the restaurant's presence within the Milwaukee corporate sector.
  • Analyze market trends and competitor offerings to ensure competitive positioning.
  • Consistently meet or exceed sales targets (monthly, quarterly, and annually).

Duties

  • Respond promptly to incoming leads and client inquiries.
  • Ensure clear, effective communication with internal teams for seamless event execution.
  • Build and nurture relationships with key corporate clients and event planners.
  • Participate in trade shows and networking events to generate new business.
  • Provide sales performance reports to the Director of Sales & Marketing.
  • Work with the marketing team on promotional efforts for event spaces and packages.
  • Conduct post-event follow-ups to gather feedback and foster repeat business.
  • Submit weekly reporting to leadership on leadflow, events booked in period, and YoY comparisons.
  • Present monthly reports on unit event & catering performance during the monthly financial session.

Qualifications

  • 3-5 years of experience in event or hospitality sales, with a proven track record of success.
  • Strong sales, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects under pressure.
  • Proficiency in event management and CRM software; experience with TripleSeat highly preferred.
  • Working knowledge of POS & reservation systems.
  • Creativity in event planning and package development.
  • Solid knowledge of food & beverage and hospitality industry standards.
  • While not required, candidates with a pre-existing book of business will be given priority consideration

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Hospitality Management, Marketing, Business Administration, or related field.

Location Requirements

This role requires the employee to be based in Milwaukee or nearby, as the primary focus will be on selling and supporting events in that market. Occasional travel to Chicago may be required if an event necessitates on-site support. The Event Sales Manager will work in partnership with our Chicago-based Sales Director, who focuses primarily on that region.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to remain stationary for extended periods.
  • Capable of navigating event spaces, including staircases and outdoor areas.
  • Able to lift up to 20 pounds for event setup demos.
  • Comfortable working in both indoor and outdoor environments as needed.

We are committed to fostering an inclusive, dynamic, and supportive team environment. If you are a self-motivated sales professional with a passion for hospitality and events, we'd love to hear from you.

To apply, please submit your resume and a brief cover letter detailing your event sales experience.
