Job Title: Enterprise Data Center Architect Work Location: Hill AFB Utah Duration: 6- month Contract to Hire Education/Experience Required: Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field.
Job Description & Responsibilities : The Enterprise Data Center Architect plays a critical role in shaping the user experience and interactivity of Hill CEDC's cloud-based data center environment. This role is responsible for designing, implementing, and optimizing front-end architecture for applications and systems hosted within the data center, ensuring seamless integration with back-end infrastructure and databases. This includes optimizing the DevSecOps environment to support efficient application development and deployment. The Front-End Architect will collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop customized solutions that align with Hill CEDC and its customer programs' objectives, emphasizing scalability, security, and cost-effectiveness. This individual will also contribute to disaster recovery strategies and evaluate emerging technologies to ensure the Hill CEDC remains at the forefront of the digital landscape. Responsibilities: Architecture Design and Implementation: Lead the design, development, and implementation of front-end data center architecture, focusing on optimizing hosting and DevSecOps environments for application information systems. This includes servers, VMs, storage arrays, networking equipment, switches, etc. Technology Evaluation and Integration: Evaluate and integrate emerging cloud technologies (AWS, Azure, Google, Oracle OCI) and front-end development frameworks to enhance performance, security, and scalability. Performance Optimization: Continuously monitor and optimize the performance of front-end systems, identifying and resolving bottlenecks to ensure optimal application performance and user experience. DevSecOps Implementation and Support: Facilitate the implementation and ongoing support of DevSecOps practices within a DoD Data Center, emphasizing automation, security, and collaboration. Collaboration and Communication: Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, stakeholders to align technology solutions with business objectives and customer program needs. Security and Compliance: Implement and maintain robust security measures to protect front-end systems and data, ensuring compliance with DoD security regulations and industry best practices. Documentation and Standards: Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation for front-end architecture, designs, and processes, adhering to established DoD and industry standards. Hosted System Assessments: Conduct regular assessments of front-end hosted systems to identify areas for improvement and ensure optimal performance and security. Roadmap Development: Contribute to the development of future roadmaps for the Data Center's IT infrastructure, aligning technology initiatives with business strategy. Emerging Technology Evaluation: Stay abreast of emerging technologies and evaluate their potential impact The Data Centers IT infrastructure.
Skills & Qualifications : Required Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field. 5+ years of experience in data center architecture. Certifications (Highly Preferred - At least one): AWS Certified Solutions Architect - Professional Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert Google Cloud Certified - Professional Cloud Architect
Certifications (Preferred): TOGAF Certification ITIL Certification
Strong understanding of UI/UX principles, responsive design, accessibility (WCAG), and usability testing. Experience with data visualization libraries (e.g., D3.js, Chart.js) and tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI). Proficiency in API integration (RESTful, GraphQL) and data handling (JSON, XML). Understanding of DevOps principles and tools (e.g., Git, CI/CD pipelines). Familiarity with data center infrastructure concepts (servers, networking, storage, virtualization). Knowledge of cloud computing platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and their related services. Experience with monitoring and logging tools (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, ELK stack). Soft Skills: Excellent communication, collaboration, and presentation skills. Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines. Strong understanding of enterprise architecture frameworks. Experience working with agile development methodologies.
