The Engineering Manager will oversee plastic engineering, manufacturing engineering and sustaining engineering, ensuring efficient production processes and continuous improvement of existing products. This role requires a hands-on approach, contributing directly to the team's capacity and technical expertise. Key Responsibilities: Manage and mentor a team of mechanical, manufacturing and plastic engineers, fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture. Oversee the design, development, and optimization of manufacturing processes to ensure high-quality and cost-effective production. Lead efforts to maintain and improve existing products, addressing any issues and implementing enhancements. Plan, execute, and monitor engineering projects, ensuring timely delivery and alignment with company goals. Lead teams to solve problems and make improvements using a variety of techniques. Collaborate with production and product development teams to maintain product supply and help introduce new products into the manufacturing environment. Encourage and facilitate innovative solutions to engineering challenges, promoting continuous improvement. Actively participate in engineering tasks, providing technical support and increasing team capacity. Provide direct support to Leadership concerning products, product changes, quality concerns and other technical product concerns. This list of responsibilities is not exhaustive. What you will need to succeed: Education & Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or related field required. Master’s degree preferred. 10 years’ related work experience in engineering, with at least 5 years in a managerial role Strong leadership and team management skills, with a proven track record of mentoring and developing engineering teams Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a proactive approach to identifying and addressing issues Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams in continuous improvement initiatives, resulting in significant cost savings and efficiency gains Demonstrated expertise in implementing Lean principles to streamline engineering processes, reduce waste, and enhance productivity. Green-Belt Certification Preferred Proficiency in design, sustaining and manufacturing engineering practices, and general project management Proficiency in assembly practices including automation processes Proficiency in custom injection molded parts (design and processes) Demonstrated ability to contribute technically to engineering tasks and projects Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders First-rate organizational skills and ability to multi-task
