Currently, we are looking for an experienced professional to join the Insurance – Employee Benefits team as: Employee Benefits Consultant – Capital Region This opportunity may be perfect for you if you have experience in: > Strategic Client Consultation & Relationship Management > Benefits Expertise & Market Acumen > Proactive Business Development & Revenue Generation About this position: Responsible for developing and retaining a book of Employee Benefits clients. Expected to be consultative and strategic in approach to the marketplace. Works closely with Practice Leader and Account Service leaders to develop strategies and to align insurance carriers with those strategies. This position sits in our Latham, New York Regional Office, attending some meetings and training in our South Glens Falls, New York headquarters. Essential Job Functions: > Build and maintain a pipeline of new business prospects sufficient to meet new business objectives > Receive, record, and process all client information necessary to prepare application forms for insurance policies > Utilize available value-added resources to enhance relationships, increase retention and create referral opportunities > Work to meet or exceed annual new business revenue goals. > In conjunction with EB Practice Leader, interface with various insurance carriers to ensure products offered to each client best meets the client’s needs. > Provide consistent, outstanding customer service by anticipating and reacting to customer needs. > Adhere to renewal process to include timelines, documentation and developing renewal strategy for each account. What you will need to thrive in this role: In addition to your work and life experiences, as well as your passion and excitement for the profession, you would benefit from having: Education/Certifications: > Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience required > 8 years of experience in sales, insurance, business or Human Resources/Benefits required > Valid New York State insurance licenses required or ability to obtain within one year Skills/Knowledge: > Demonstrated talent for sales – presenting information, handling objections, closing a sale > Benefits knowledge from an Insurance or Human Resources Perspective > Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal; comfortable communicating with customers, co-workers, management, insurance carriers, and community influencers > Proven ability to effectively communicate insurance concepts and information to varied audiences > Exceptional listening and problem-solving skills to identify needs and make connections to products or services to meet those needs > Ability to independently handle multiple tasks and meet strict deadlines; attention to detail a must > Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite: Word, Excel, and Outlook Physical Demands > Must be able to sit for prolonged periods of time and walk/stand for brief periods of time. > Must be able to repetitively use a telephone and computer mouse and keyboard. > Ability to lift/move up to 15 lbs. The pay range for this position is $90,000 - $175,000 per year commensurate with experience and education.
