Emergency Veterinary Assistant Technician Responsibilities:
- Assist in delivering compassionate, efficient emergency care by supporting patient restraint, obtaining vital signs, and providing comfort measures to canine and feline patients.
- Prepare and organize medical equipment, supplies, and medications required for emergency procedures and treatments.
- Maintain a clean, sanitary, and well-stocked treatment area, including disinfecting surfaces, changing bedding, and replenishing supplies.
- Support diagnostic efforts by assisting with radiographs, laboratory testing, and sample collection under veterinary supervision.
- Administer medications, treatments, and IV fluids as directed by the veterinary team, ensuring accurate delivery and patient safety.
- Document patient information, treatments, and clinical observations accurately and promptly in medical records.
- Communicate empathetically with pet owners, providing updates, relaying messages, and addressing general inquiries as directed by the veterinary staff.
- Collaborate across departments as needed, contributing to a cohesive and efficient hospital environment.
