ELIGIBIITY AND BENEFITS CARE COORDINATOR
Our healthcare driven, patient satisfaction focused practice is currently looking for an Eligibility and Benefits Care Coordinator to improve patient customer service and support our management team. This individual must have excellent phone and people skills, with a strong attention to detail, be organized and reliable. We are looking for at least 2 years of experience in a medical clinic or hospital setting and one year of classifying and maintaining numerical data for maintaining financial records. This role will report to the Practice Administrator.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
Customer Service • Work with Front Desk Coordinators to help patients calculate their co-pays and deductibles so they can be collected at time of service. • Work with the billing department to help post payments and provide patients with their current balances. • Enroll and monitor patient payment plans to follow-up on rejected payments and to ensure that payments are up to date. • Process collection worksheet to ensure that all patients sent to collections have been approved by the provider. • Present financial plans to patients who are struggling to pay their bill.
Supporting Clinic Operations • Run daily schedule reports for eligibility and to proactively advise patients with large balances. • Provide recommendation for CT add-on procedures. • Pivot to help the Front and Schedulers with phones as needed. • Reconcile deposits to activity on patient accounts in eClinical Works, make deposits at the bank and provide accounting with your reconciliations. • Other tasks as assigned by the Practice Administrator.
QUALIFICATIONS • Bachelor's degree (B.A.) from four-year college or university preferred • Two to three years related experience required • Familiarity with CPT and ICD Codes/Coding • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail • Excellent verbal and written communication, and interpersonal skills • Excellent time management skills • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills • Must have the ability to remain calm in stressful situations, to be flexible, to work well with many interruptions and to be able to multi-task • Must exhibit and promote a high level of customer service, hospitality, curiosity and friendliness towards all patients, employees and the overall facility • Ability to prioritize tasks and to delegate them when appropriate • Proficiency with PC-based computer skills

PHYSICAL DEMANDS of the ELIGIBIITY AND BENEFITS CARE COORDINATOR • Arrive at specified work location, on time, ready to work • Maintain a 40-hour work week • Ability to remain seated and perform normal office tasks 8 hours daily
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY
This position has no supervisory responsibility.
