Position Overview:
CMS Energy is seeking a detail-oriented and organized Scheduling Administrative Support professional to join our Electric Scheduling team in Grand Rapids, MI. This entry-level position plays a vital role in supporting daily work coordination, scheduling, and resource planning for electric-related operations. The ideal candidate will possess strong administrative skills, a customer-focused mindset, and the ability to adapt quickly in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Coordinate and execute daily work plans, including scheduling, dispatching assignments, and organizing work orders.
Support the scheduling team by facilitating meetings and short-term forecasting of tasks.
Communicate effectively with field operations, supervisors, and supporting departments.
Monitor work progress using internal systems; submit orders and adjust schedules as needed.
Respond to emergent issues and escalations according to department procedures.
Perform various reporting duties and administrative functions specific to the business unit.
Assist with additional administrative tasks, including document handling, email communications, and data entry.
Required Qualifications:
Education: High School diploma or equivalent.
Experience: 0–1 year of relevant administrative or clerical experience.
Strong communication, organizational, and time management skills.
Ability to work independently and manage urgent or high-pressure tasks effectively.
Basic technical aptitude to learn and navigate scheduling software and internal systems.
Customer-focused with a collaborative, team-oriented attitude.
Preferred Qualifications:
Associate’s degree in Business Administration or related field.
2–4 years of experience in scheduling, customer service, or data/report handling roles.
Prior experience in a utility, energy, or field service environment.
Familiarity with SAP (Front and Back Office), plotter and scanner operations.
Experience working with electric or utility scheduling teams is highly desirable.
Technical Skills:
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook)
Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently
Capable of adapting to new tools and learning responsibilities quickly
