LIMITED TERM POSITION Job Title: EcoFleet ATL Project Manager Department: Mayor’s Office of Sustainability and Resilience (MOSR) Location: City of Atlanta, GA Duration: Position terminates on December 31, 2026 Compensation: $85,000 plus benefits Position Overview: The City of Atlanta is seeking a full-time EcoFleet ATL Project Manager to lead the implementation of EcoFleet ATL, a transformative program funded by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s Clean Heavy-Duty Vehicle (CHDV) Grant. This initiative will replace seven medium and heavy-duty diesel vehicles with zero-emission electric vehicles (EVs), install seven 150+kW DC fast chargers across four City sites, and launch a workforce development and community engagement effort centered on equity and clean transportation. Reporting to the Deputy Chief Sustainability Officer, the Project Manager will coordinate across multiple departments including Public Works Office of Fleet Services (DPW OFS), Watershed Management (DWM), Aviation (DOA), and the Mayor’s Office of Sustainability and Resilience (MOSR) and serve as the primary point of contact for internal and external stakeholders, ensuring timely and effective implementation of all project components. Key Responsibilities: Project Leadership and Implementation Oversee day-to-day implementation of EcoFleet ATL across all project components: vehicle procurement, charging infrastructure, workforce development, training coordination, and stakeholder engagement. Lead coordination among key departments and stakeholders, including but not limited to the DPW Office of Fleet Services, DWM, DOA, Georgia Power, Electrification Coalition, the Mayor’s Office of Sustainability and Resilience and contracted vendors. Ensure alignment with the City’s Climate Action Plan, Clean Energy Plan, and the City’s in-draft Zero Emission Fleet Plan. Grant Compliance and Program Management Manage EPA CHDV grant deliverables, timelines, and performance metrics. Maintain detailed project budgets, ensuring appropriate use of federal and match funds, and oversee procurement and reporting. Submit quarterly and final reports to the EPA and maintain communication with federal partners and technical assistance providers. Workforce Development Work with the Office of Fleet Services to implement a comprehensive training and certification program for City technicians and EV operators, including coordination of Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) certification. Support Electric Vehicle driving education for City Fleet users. Incorporate Inflation Reduction Act (IRA) prevailing wage and apprenticeship requirements across EVSE construction projects. Engage with local partners (e.g., ACCA, Hertz Electrifies) to promote pathways into clean energy careers for youth and workers from historically disadvantaged communities. Community and Stakeholder Engagement Organize and facilitate meetings and updates to but not limited to the Climate Resilience Advisory Board, EV Interdepartmental Working Group, and local Neighborhood Planning Units (NPUs). Develop and distribute outreach materials highlighting air quality, job creation, and climate benefits of the project. Engage with EV Charging vendors to support turnkey and comprehensive EV Chagring solutiions.
