Position Title: Drama Director - Theater for Young Audiences (TYA) (Temporary, Part-Time)
Department: West Campus, Center for the Arts - Performing Arts
Rate of Pay: $3,000.00 per production
Closed Date: August 27, 2025; 5:00PM Arizona Time
Position Summary:
The drama production director is responsible for holding auditions to select the acting cast members. They collaborate with the technical crew, which may consist of lighting, sound, set and costume designers. Will collaborate with the Theatre Coordinator on extensive production designs.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Blocks the play by adapting the actor movements to workable floor plans on the set
Leads rehearsals, he or she collaborates creatively with the actors and technical crew to make the blocking natural, changing it when necessary and allowing inspiration
Determines the final pacing of the play reverberates with the life of an artistic vision that is satisfying and complete
Job Requirements: High school diploma or GED
Motivated by strong passions for theater and art
Minimum of two years of directing experience
Preferred: Master of Fine Arts (MFA) in Directing or other Theater degree

Physical Requirements:
