DISMANTLER

We are currently seeking a skilled and goal oriented individual who can systematically remove parts from automobiles in accordance with designated inventory requirements with the specific goal of maintaining saleable quality on all parts. This individual should have solid knowledge of automobiles.
Responsibilities Include, But Are Not Limited To:
• When completing full dismantling function, read inventory sheet provided to determine parts to remove from vehicle prepared for dismantling; remove parts as requested.
• Label each removed part with stock number assigned to vehicle.
• Determine core parts of vehicle for re-sale and place those parts in separate area.
• Retrieve sales tickets to determine parts to remove from vehicles for telephone and walk in customers or from verbal requests from sales staff, manager or inventory staff. Parts generally requiring assistance include larger components such as engines, transmissions, rear-end assemblies, etc.
• Remove and properly dispose of fluids from vehicle (oil, water, gasoline, antifreeze) and remove Freon from air conditioning units in accordance with federal standards.
• Determine if parts or supplies are marketable or if they should be replaced with another in better condition.
• As requested, general housekeeping duties to include yard, shop, office bays and other areas of operation.
• Other duties as assigned within the scope of the skills, physical requirements, education and experience of this position description.
• Incumbent will be required to be outside in climactic extremes of heat and cold; position will be require standing, walking, and sitting, climbing, lying on back, bending, kneeling, twisting, reaching and lifting on a daily basis. Lifting will be restricted to 50 pounds without assistance.
Qualifications:
• Must be able to identify major and standard vehicle parts and components
• Must have mechanical aptitude
• Must interact with customers in a professional and courteous manner
• Must be able to distinguish color
Education: High School Diploma or equivalent (GED)
