The Media Director, Buying will be responsible for high-level operations management, fostering client relationships, and overseeing buying strategy and executional excellence. The Director reports to a S/VP, Media, and works with a team of buying, planning, and analytics professionals across one or more clients. Our Directors work closely with clients, platform representatives, and vendors to stay on the cutting edge of buying trends. What You'd Do: Oversee a team of media buyers/planners, providing leadership, mentorship, vision, and technical expertise. Conduct regular meetings for feedback, guidance, and discussion of challenges or successes.
Act as the primary contact for client and platform partners, serving as a go-to leader.
Lead check-ins with key account and media counterparts to ensure projects progress smoothly, are thoughtful, high quality, and exceed client expectations.
Develop and deliver sophisticated media investment strategies based on industry insights and QA reporting.
Create media plans, assist with presentation materials, and provide strategic guidance during client reporting calls.
Collaborate across agency disciplines to craft holistic, omnichannel media strategies that drive tangible business outcomes for large brands.
Establish internal policies and POVs on agency partnerships, the digital media landscape, and current client business cases.
Provide thought leadership on the operation of the business unit, setting internal and external expectations for daily business execution.
Manage communication with senior leadership regarding critical aspects of client business, keeping them informed of developments and urgent needs.
Proactively identify and bring new/emerging opportunities to clients, pushing media excellence boundaries.
Build and maintain relationships with clients, ensuring the well-being of the team and the agency.
Work with HR to mentor, engage, and develop direct reports and foster a positive work environment.
What You've Got: At least 6+ years of industry experience with a proven record of executing large-scale digital media campaigns that deliver tangible results.
Extensive experience in media buying across paid social, SEM, and other biddable platforms, with an emphasis on paid social.
Fluency in analytics, attribution, and measurement systems.
Strong leadership qualities, attention to detail, professionalism, empathy, and work ethic.
A passion for digital and mobile consumer trends, and a drive to develop innovative brand strategies and partner relationships.
Ability to manage a portfolio of brands, understanding their unique architectures, and building stakeholder relationships.
Expertise in leveraging resources to align media strategies with client marketing goals using data and insights.
Willingness to adopt new techniques and technologies relevant to media strategies.
