Position Overview: We are seeking a dynamic and driven Director of Business Development to oversee the entire Go-To-Market (GTM) organization for ACA. This senior leadership role combines sales, marketing, and business development, and is ideal for a high-performing player-coach with strong leadership acumen and a desire to build and lead a high-impact team. This is a hybrid role based in the Charlotte metro area , you must be located in the Charlotte metro area and be able to travel up to 75% domestically in your territory. Preferred Qualifications: Sales or sales leadership certifications. A strong network within the medical device, life sciences, or capital equipment sectors . Experience managing or mentoring high-performing sales teams. Key Responsibilities: GTM Leadership: Own and oversee all facets of ACA’s go-to-market strategy, including sales, marketing, and business development. Sales Leadership: Day-to-day management of the ACA outside and inside sales team; mentor, train, and support reps to maximize performance. Player-Coach Role: Drive your own book of business with a personal sales target of $3M–$5M annually. New Business Development: Proactively hunt for new customers, identify growth opportunities, and build strategic partnerships across the East Coast. CRM & Data Ownership: Champion Salesforce CRM adoption and engagement, collaborating closely with the Chief Revenue Officer (CRO). Market & Competitive Strategy: Define business growth strategy through competitive positioning, market forecasting, and analysis. Marketing Leadership: Lead ACA’s marketing efforts; work closely with our marketing specialist to execute targeted campaigns and elevate ACA’s brand. Forecasting: Lead sales forecasting and GTM performance analysis, reporting directly to the CRO and ACA senior leadership team. Team Building: Hire, train, and develop top-performing business development staff; build a scalable and resilient team culture. Qualifications: 7–10 years of senior-level outside sales experience. Proven track record selling technical or capital equipment solutions (e.g., medical device, life sciences, industrial automation). Experience using and enforcing CRM best practices (Salesforce preferred). Demonstrated ability to lead or strong desire to transition into team leadership. Desire to operate in a hybrid role: individual contributor + team leader. Education & Certifications: Bachelor’s Degree required. Sales leadership and/or formal sales training certifications are strongly preferred. Technical Skills: Proficiency in Salesforce CRM , Excel, Microsoft Office, data analysis tools. Familiarity with tools such as ZoomInfo , and ability to leverage AI tools like ChatGPT . Soft Skills: Strong communication and listening abilities. Highly organized and composed under pressure. Servant leadership mindset with a “will to win” and drive for results. Preferred Qualifications: Sales or sales leadership certifications.
