Salary: $100,000 - $150,000 DOE Summary: The Director of Business Development is responsible for leading all outreach, referral, marketing, and strategic growth initiatives for The Annexs outpatient PHP and IOP mental health services. This leadership role focuses on building strong relationships with referral sources, developing partnerships, identifying expansion opportunities, and supporting census and revenue growth across all programs. The Director collaborates closely with the Executive Director, Admissions, and Clinical teams to align marketing and admissions efforts with organizational goals.This position reports directly to the Executive CEO. Supervisory Responsibilities: Direct supervision of Business Development Specialists, Outreach Coordinators, or Community Liaisons (as applicable). Responsible for hiring, onboarding, training, supervising, evaluating, and supporting performance improvement for all business development team members. Provides ongoing coaching, establishes team KPIs, and ensures accountability for outreach activities. Detailed Responsibilities: Design and implement a comprehensive outreach and growth strategy aligned with The Annexs mission, services, and target populations. Cultivate, manage, and expand referral relationships with hospitals, primary care, psychiatry, therapists, school districts, EAPs, and other community organizations. Supervise the business development team to ensure outreach activities are consistent, strategic, and effective. Collaborate with the Director of Admissions to ensure a smooth handoff from outreach to intake and track conversion metrics. Monitor and analyze referral and admissions data; prepare reports and dashboards to inform leadership on trends, opportunities, and gaps. Represent The Annex at conferences, networking events, trade shows, and professional development functions. Collaborate with leadership to develop marketing materials, campaigns, and brand-aligned communications. Ensure that all business development communications are HIPAA-compliant and ethically aligned with Joint Commission and industry standards. Support strategic partnerships, payer relationships, or expansion opportunities in collaboration with the Executive Director. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of the behavioral health industry, referral patterns, payer requirements, and competitive landscape. Participate in senior leadership meetings and contribute to long-term organizational planning. Perform other duties as assigned by the Executive Director. Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Strong understanding of the behavioral health landscape, including outpatient mental health, PHP/IOP models, and referral systems. Demonstrated leadership, coaching, and people management skills. Excellent interpersonal communication, networking, and presentation abilities. Strategic planning and market analysis experience. Proficiency with CRM platforms, referral tracking tools, and admissions metrics. Ability to build rapport and maintain long-term professional relationships. Cultural competence and a client-centered approach to outreach. Education/Experience: Bachelors degree required; Masters in Healthcare Administration, Marketing, or a related field preferred. Minimum 35 years of experience in behavioral healthcare outreach or marketing, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or director-level role. Knowledge of HIPAA, Joint Commission marketing standards, and ethical outreach practices. Clear Background Check/SDU Valid Texas Drivers License and reliable transportation required.
