DAY TO DAY AS DIRECTOR OF ACCOUNTING AND FINANCE The Director of Accounting and Finance at Greenville Federal Credit Union will be a key leader responsible for overseeing all accounting processes, including daily, weekly, and monthly general ledger activities, and ensuring an efficient financial close each month. This role involves leading the preparation and submission of quarterly NCUA call reports while supporting financial planning and analysis through budgeting, forecasting, and asset/liability management. You will ensure the accurate and timely production of financial statements and both internal and external reports, while also maintaining and enhancing internal controls, accounting policies, and financial procedures to achieve compliance and operational efficiency. Collaborating closely with executive management, you will interpret financial results to support strategic initiatives and coordinate audit processes, ensuring the meticulous preparation of required documentation for auditors and NCUA examiners. WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR IN A DIRECTOR OF ACCOUNTING AND FINANCE To thrive as the Director of Accounting and Finance at Greenville Federal Credit Union, candidates must possess a bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field, though a combination of education and experience may be considered. A minimum of five years of relevant experience in financial and accounting roles, particularly in maintaining general ledgers and cost accounting, is essential. Successful applicants will demonstrate proven leadership and a strong track record in accounting and financial management. In-depth knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and regulatory compliance standards is required, along with exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills to make informed financial decisions. Strong leadership capabilities are crucial, including experience in managing and developing high-performing teams. A CPA license is preferred, and familiarity with Blackline software is a valuable asset that can enhance performance in this dynamic role. Note: This position may be assigned to work from home based on the needs of the credit union.
