Who You Are:
PSI is seeking a Director Business Development – Private Sector to help identify new opportunities for our firm within the private market. This individual will build a robust business opportunity pipeline with potential clients and manage future relationships with partners. The ideal candidate will have 10+ years of business development experience within Civil Engineering and brings a strong network and understanding of the industry. You will help lead our growth by focusing on areas of growth for the firm and working with partners and stakeholders to bring new business to PSI.
Responsibilities
Coordinate strategic growth plan with practice leaders and utilize network connections to build new partnerships with clients
Establish and grow market presence in the DMV area and beyond through industry events, networking, working with our Marketing team, and other areas
Lead and contribute to the production of proposals with our Pursuits team
Collaborate with internal stakeholders regularly within Finance, Construction, Engineering, Operations and other disciplines
Serve as a trusted advisor to clients and new prospects within the Private Sector
Build growth strategies and plans with other Executives at PSI and drive revenue growth long-term
Required Qualifications:
Bachelors in Civil Engineering or related field
10+ years' experience in specialized discipline
Professional Engineer License or equivalent, preferred
Supervisory experience preferred but not required
Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to effectively communicate complex technical information to diverse stakeholders.
Travel 20%+ will be required for this role. This includes industry conferences and events, client meetings, and other travel to help expand into new markets
Experience with DDOT, VDOT, MDOT, and/or Virginia/Maryland projects.
